About FitnessHubb

FitnessHubb ranks home fitness gear for people who want to buy once and get on with training. Every list here answers one question: what is the cheapest thing that still does the job properly?

Who runs this

FitnessHubb is an independent site run by Matt Umali, built out of the exact problem this site solves — trying to put together a home setup on a student budget, and finding that most gear advice was either a spec sheet with no opinion or a list where the most expensive product always won.

It is small on purpose. No brand deals to protect, no ad network deciding what gets covered, and no reason to talk anybody into a machine they will not use.

How products get ranked

Every ranking on this site is research-led, and it is worth being precise about what that means, because plenty of sites imply lab testing they never did.

What goes into a ranking:

What does not go into a ranking: payment, gifted product, brand relationships, or how large a commission a product pays. Nothing on this site is sponsored, and no brand sees a page before it is published.

What we do not claim. We do not run a testing lab and we do not pretend to. Where a decision comes down to feel, fit or noise level — things you cannot get from a spec sheet — the page says that plainly instead of inventing an opinion.

How this site makes money

FitnessHubb is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. When you buy through a link here, Amazon pays a small commission and you pay exactly the same price you would pay going to Amazon directly.

That commission is roughly the same percentage on a $30 product and a $300 one, so there is no financial reason to push you up a tier — and several lists on this site top out with the cheapest option in the category for exactly that reason. Full details on the payments and shipping page, and more on how rankings work in the FAQ.

The one belief behind the whole site

Consistency beats equipment. A body-weight routine done four times a week will out-perform a garage full of machines used twice a month, and no purchase fixes a habit that has not been built yet.

So the job of gear is narrower than the marketing suggests: it removes the specific obstacle that is stopping you training. No time to drive to a gym. Nothing at home heavy enough to progress on. Too sore to go again tomorrow. Buy for the obstacle you actually have, at the level you are actually training — which is why everything here is sorted by training level rather than by price.
